West Ham United gave the Man-of-the-Match award to the goal-post following their lucky 1-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.

The decision came about in a public poll on Twitter, where fans voted on who their 'man'-of-the-match award should go to, with a staggering 57% of the vote going to 'The Post.'

The visitors, who now lie at the foot of table after the defeat, struck the post three times as well as having a number of gilt-edged opportunities cleared off the line.

Somehow, West Ham managed to keep a clean sheet, much to the surprise of a scarcely-filled London Stadium who booed at half-time while the scores were level at 0-0.

With 5⃣7⃣ per cent of the vote, congratulations to The Post on securing today's Man of the Match award!

West Ham captain Mark Noble scored a 75th minute winner from the penalty spot following a decidedly soft decision for a foul of Michail Antonio.

The win lifts West Ham to 13th, but fans will be wondering just how their side have notched six points in their last two outings having played woefully on both occasions.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic admitted that his side were lucky after the game, claiming that Hull deserved at least a point from Saturday's game.

As quoted in theDaily Mail, he said:"Yes, I feel like a lucky man, for long periods they look like they deserved something.

"But I don't feel gutted for them because they had their chances. Our reaction, when we changed players and system was better in second half. But it wasn't good enough."
