West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan admits his regrets for not signing Andre Ayew from Olympique Marseille. West Ham were keen to sign the Ghana international last summer - when he signed for Swansea on a free transfer.
The Hammers who have expressed interest in binging Andre is been made to pay £20 million for a player they could have signed free last summer.
Their inability or unwillingness to conclude a deal for Ayew last summer is looking costly, but this is no snap decision or panic move from the Hammers.
David Sullivan expressed last September that he was haunted by Ayew's early success at Swansea, when he was quoted by London24 as stating: “I regret not signing Ayew because I really fancied him.”
