West Ham reveals Andre Ayew could make an early return in October

English Premier league side West Ham united have revealed their record summer signing Andre Ayew could return to action next month, several weeks before his expected comeback.

Ghana’s Andre Ayew suffered a hamstring injury on his Hammers debut in August, lasting only 35 minutes in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League and was expected to return in November/December.

"Our Club record signing Andre Ayew is also a great signing," West Ham joint-chairman David Sullivan told the club's official website. "We are just unlucky with his injury. "He is a player that is never usually injured, but he is progressing very well. "We hope he might be back sometime in October or early November, a lot earlier than was initially anticipated."

His early return will be good news to Black Stars head coach Avram Grant who might have his deputy captain Ayew available for Ghana's crunch 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Egypt on November 7.

The former Marseille man joined West Ham on a three-year deal worth £20.5 million after netting 12 times in 34 league appearances for Swansea last season.
