West Ham United skipper Mark Noble has praised Andre Ayew for his fine display in their EFL Cup game with Tottehham on Wednesday.

Ayew scored twice for the Hammers as they came back from 2-0 down against Tottenham Hotspur to win 3-2 as they advanced to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Ayew had struggled to find the back of the net prior to the contest, having scored just one Premier League goal.

Noble said after the win: "Don't get me wrong, you need a bit of luck. Andre Ayew knows where the ball is going to drop.

"He's had a bit of stick but he keeps on grinding and he deserved that.
