RB Leipzig moved within to three points of leaders Bayern Munich on Saturdayfollowing the side's emphatic 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to continue a remarkable debut season in Germany's top division.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men after just 125 seconds of the game starting.

Eintracht Frankfurt keeper Lukas Hradecky made a howler after slipping when trying to get the ball outside his box, and surprisingly handled the ball to obtain a red card.

Within four minutes of the sending off, the home side capitalised with a goal following a Marvin Compper rebound and then a Timo Werner before the half-time interval.

A 67th minute own goal would seal the win for Leipzig, as Frankfurt endured a frustrating evening without their first-choice goalkeeper.

As a result Frankfurt slipped to sixth position in the table, and are still in contention for the European places.

Leipzig on the other hand have consolidated second position for now, and are eight points ahead of third-placed Hoffenheim, meaning that Champions League football is looking likely next season for the newly-promoted team.

Leipzig has won 12, drawn three and lost two in the Bundesliga so far this season and is closing in on Carlo Ancelotti's Bayern side at the top of the table.
