Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Samuel Anim Addo has raised questions over the recommendation of Braydon Manu.

SV Darmstadt 98 attacker was handed a late call up to the Black Stars for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

A statement by the country's football governing body said the German-born footballer was recommended by Bernhard Lippert, who is the technical director of the Ghana Football Association [GFA].

The 24-year-old however was unused in the game against Ethiopia. He missed the game against South Africa due to Covid-19 travelling restrictions.

Manu after the Ethiopia tie at the Cape Coast Stadium speaking in an interview admitted that he did not merit a call up to the Black Stars.

According to him, he was stunned when he spoke to the technical director of the GFA.

However, Anim Addo believes due diligence was done before Manu was handed the call-up.

According to him, the people in charge of the national team must answer questions especially, Bernhard Lipperty.

"I am disappointed with whatever that has transpired these few days," he said on Asempa FM.

"We do we have to allow ourselves for this to come on us. I am disappointed with the utterance of Bryon Manu.

"The basic question is what transpired before he was recommended? I believe some people must answer some questions because this is disgraceful.

"We give opportunities to players to play for their national teams and exhibit what they have but what Manu said is a disaster and this should not happen again.

"I have followed Black Stars for many years and this has never happened. The Executive Council will hold a meeting and I am sure we will decide the way forward," he added.
