Former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins has urged the club to deal in Michael Carrick.
The Geordie is being linked with a move to Newcastle United today.
“He's got to stay at United as far as I'm concerned," he said on talkSPORT.
“Until you can find someone who does the job that he does.
“I watched him last night, he was pulling and pushing people all over the place.
“He was the only one who could pass to a red shirt.
“I was very disappointed in Man United's ball retention. United have to keep Michael Carrick."
