Bechem United striker, Abednego Tetteh, is on a mission to scupper the title ambition of Accra Hearts of Oak when they play at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday.

The 25-year-old told the Graphic Sports yesterday that he was eager to help his club to complete the season among the top four clubs, including with a personal target of finishing among the highest scorers in the league.

Tetteh, a debutant in the premiership goes into sunday’s match with a rich scoring record of 12 goals in all competitions (nine in the league). He said Bechem United was highly motivated and ready to stop Hearts and that there was no way they would lose the game.

“We are not afraid of Hearts of Oak and we are going to make we beat them to ensure we finish among the top four this season”, Abednego stated.

His uncompromising stand was corroborated by the CEO of the club, Kingsley Owusu Achau, who said some chiefs from the Brong Ahafo Region had put together a special package to motivate the club to beat Hearts.

“The players are well motivated and just as they were handsomely rewarded after beating Dwarfs last weekend, a special package awaits them if they win on Sunday. That is aside the package some chiefs in Brong Ahafo are putting together for the players,” Mr Achau told the Graphic Sports.

Apart from their 1-0 win over Hearts in January last year, Bechem United have been whipping boys to the Phobians who hold with a record of four wins in their last seven encounters and two draws.

Notwithstanding the contrasting fortunes, this encounter promises to be dicey, considering the remarkable turnaround by the hosts. While Bechem have won all their last three games, Hearts have not been impressive of late, drawing twice and losing one.

Similarly, there will be another showdown between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday as the home side seek revenge for their 0-2 loss in the first round.

In the other fixtures, league leaders Wa All Stars could stretch their lead if they beat Dreams FC at the Wa Park, and at the Sogakope Park, second-placed Aduana Stars could be in trouble when they play WAFA at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Ebusua Dwarfs appear to be favourites in their home game against Medeama SC at Cape Coast, Techiman City host Liberty Professionals at the Nana Ameyaw Park and Inter Allies welcome New Edubiase United to the Tema Stadium.
