William Opoku Mensah joins Swope Park Rangers on a season long loan

Swope Park Rangers have completed the signing of former Karela United FC skipper William Opoku Mensah in the on-going transfer window.

Mensah joined Rangers on Monday after successfully passing a mandatory medical and completing the formalities on a season loan deal with an option to extend at end of his initial contract.

The 23-year-old will also have the opportunity to move to MLS side Sporting Kansas City if he impresses at the club this season.

Swope Park Rangers is the feeder team of Sporting Kansas City and play in the USL championship.

The Ghanaian forward shot into fame in the first round of the truncated 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season with an outstanding performance for Karela, scoring six goals in 14 games including a hat-trick against Hearts of Oak.

He was a member of the Black Stars B squad before departing for the USA to complete his deal.

He will wear jersey No.79 at the club.
