The former Premier League Champions defeated Techiman Eleven Wonders 4-2 on penalties to win the Gala competition and will take home the $5000 as prize money.

According to Oduro Nyarko, the team camped for 6 weeks in Legon, and has been putting pieces together ahead of the new season. Nyarko, was not surprise by the success and says they want to reclaim the premier league title.

“I told the players ahead of the competition, they should show the others the preseason is Legon was no fluke, “he said after the game.

“If they are able to replicate what the Coach has been teaching them in preseason for the past six weeks they were going to win the competition, and even the Ghana Premier League,” he added.

The former Champions will pocket $5000, which Oduro Nyarko insists will be shared among the players.

“The prize money will be shared among the players, so I’m going for the money to share it amongst them.”

The Northern Blues will begin the next campaign against Ashanatigold after a poor defense of the title last season.
