Wojciech Szczesny Claims His Future Is in Arsene Wenger's Hands as Roma Seek Permanent Deal

Wojciech Szczesny has admitted that any decision about his long-term future will be made by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, amid speculation that his current club Roma are looking to agree a permanent deal for his services.


Szczesny is currently being loaned out to the Italians by Arsenal and is now halfway through his second season at the Stadio Olimpico. The Polish international made the decision to leave the Gunners after Petr Cech signed from Chelsea back in the summer of 2015.

Arsenal's reluctance to sellSzczesny has seen them loan the goalkeeper out to Roma for the past 18 months and it appearsthey will soon have to make a decision on his long-term future, afterreportsemerged that the Serie A side are prepared to pay the Gunners£15m to sign him on a permanent basis.


But as speculation grows about Roma's plans, Szczesny remained coy on his preference when headmitted that the decision about a potential deal rests entirely with Wenger.

The 26-year-old told Sky Italia (as quoted byFootball Italia):"My future? I wish I knew myself. My future is in the hands of Arsene Wenger, the man that've I trusted since I was 16-years-old.


"The decision is entirely up to him. I'm happy to be fought over by two big clubs like Arsenal and Roma."

WhilstSzczesny is keen to leave the decision with Wenger, even he will have concerns over the Frenchman's future at the Emirates.


With his current contract set to expire in five months, the Arsenal boss has refused to give any indication what his plans are come June and the uncertainty around his own future, is also likely to keepSzczesny's up in the air, as Roma look for a permanent solution to the goalkeeper's future.
