Ghana Women’s League Board Chairperson, Hillary Boateng wants the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to share the FIFA Covid-19 relief fund among all stakeholders including women’s football.

It is believed that, the Ghana FA will receive an amount of $1.5 million grant from FIFA to help ease the financial challenges that have come up as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The World football governing body is availing a total of $1.5 billion to all member associations as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to bite hard at football.

Each FA will get $1.5M from the kitty, with $500k dedicated to women’s football.

The release of the money is set to financially cushion the various federations against challenges they might encounter as a result of the Coronavirus bringing football activities to a standstill.

In her opinion, all stakeholders must benefit from the money with women’s football no exception as FIFA eyes development of women’s football in the world.

“Firstly, I will commend FIFA because they have shown that agenda women football has become a priority. Looking at the various federations that they are assisting with Covid relief fund they have specified certain amount for women football and this goes to show that, all the federations must give women good enough amount for the development of their game”

“Looking at women’s football in the country, it is not only the premier divisions. We have the division one, FA and the various national teams which needs money in their activities”

“So I think we have to distribute the money in a way that everybody will get it share where women football is concern but I will leave it for the FA but I know for sure they will disburse the money immediately they receive it from FIFA”

“I’m sure they will be open to us in distributing the money. The money is meant for the Covid so I’m sure FIFA will attach certain rules for clubs or shareholders who benefits to abide by” she stated.
