Women's Premier League: Mukarama Abdulai scores hattrick as Northern Ladies thrash Ashtown Ladies

Black Maidens forward Mukarama Abdulai was the star player of the day for Northern Ladies FC as her hat-trick secured the maximum points for her side in the Women’s Premier League opening match.

Northern Ladies FC played as visitors to Ashtown Ladies FC on Saturday afternoon.

Mukarama bagged three goals in the game to claim the victory for the Brown and White lads against Ashtown Ladies at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi.

Mukarama netted the opening goal for the visitors in the 7th minute after connecting from the spot following a foul on Jummai Haruna in the 18-yard box.

The first half ended with the visitors ahead 2-1 after Mukarama got her second goal in the 31st minute.

The two clubs returned from the tunnel with desire to change the score line but it was Northern Ladies who eventually had the third goal to seal a perfect victory at the Paa Joe Stadium.

In just ten minutes to the end of the game, Joyce Fenteng with Owusu Agnes, Sarfo Dorcas, and Felicia Adjei all missed clear opportunities to bring their side back into the game.

The Kumasi based Women's elite side Ashtown Ladies FC will welcome Prisons Ladies FC to the Paa Joe Stadium next week to mark their second league game in match day two.
