Head coach Tanzanian side Young Africans, Hans van der Pluijm claims his side still has a chance of making it to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup competition backing their situation with the Accra Hearts of Oak motto “Never Give Up Until the Bones Are Rotten”.

The Yanga’s who lie bottom of group A, secured their only point of the competition on Saturday after holding Ghanaian side Medeama SC to a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Young Africans are billed to travel to Ghana in two weeks time to take on Medeama in the return leg and will need a win to brighten their chances.

Speaking to the media after his side’s draw, Van der Pluijm said the Yanga’s won’t give up until their bones are rotten. “There is a team in Ghana, called Accra Hearts of Oak and their motto is never give-up until the bones are rotten.” “This week all our training regimes have been on goal scoring, pushing for the ultimate, personal training. “We had a chance of winning and we blew it” coach Van der Pluijm said.

Van der Pluijm who had stints in the Ghana Premier League, managing Medeama Sporting Club and Berekum Chelsea, had no problems remembering the Hearts of Oak motto and to motivate his lads with it.
