Memories of the 2010 World Cup football tournament can be bittersweet, as the pain of defeat can linger long after the final whistle has blown.
For Stephen Ahorlu, a player who represented Ghana in the 2010 World Cup, the memory of the team's defeat to Uruguay in the knock-out stage of the tournament still haunts him to this day.
The Black Stars came close to advancing to the semifinal of the international competition in South Africa.
Asamoah Gyan missed his penalty against Uruguay and the four-time African champions were eliminated from the competition after the penalty shootouts.
“What I can remember is, I know the last two World Cups that we went, we got to the knock stage and we got out," he told Radio Gold Sports
“So what I can remember is, the knock stage penalty we had with Uruguay,"
“I thought definitely we were going to qualify for the semifinal but unfortunately we couldn’t reach there,"
“So if I remember that, it pains me very much,"
