Cameroon crashed out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Friday night but made sure they did so with an impressive fight.

Pitted in Group G of the world cup in Qatar, the Indomitable Lions kicked off the group stage campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Switzerland.

Subsequently, in the second group match, Cameroon managed to hold Serbia to a pulsating 3-3 draw to earn a point.

Today, the final Group G match against Brazil was played with Cameroon needing a win and hoping the result from the game between Switzerland and Serbia would favour them.

In a game where Brazil decided to rest top players to give fringe players the chance to play, Cameroon excelled and impressed with a top performance.

Late in stoppage time, striker and captain Vincent Aboubakar scored with a powerful header to give Cameroon the lead.

That goal sealed a narrow win for the Indomitable Lions but is not enough to help Cameroon to sail through to the Round 16 stage.

With Switzerland beating Serbia, they join Brazil to advance to the knockout stage from Group G.
