World Cup 2022: England through to Round 16 after beating Wales to top Group B

England have reached the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after topping Group B.

The Three Lions kicked off their campaign at this year’s mundial in a clash against Iran and ran riot with a 6-2 win at the end of an exciting contest.

Subsequently, England drew with the USA in a game the Three Lions were tipped to win.

Today, England faced off with Wales in the final Group B match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Despite both countries playing well in the first half, neither side could score and had to settle for a draw at the break.

Five minutes into the second half, Marcus Rashfod scored to break the deadlock while giving England the lead.

A minute after that goal, Manchester City youngster Phil Foden also equalised to double the lead for England.

Later in the 68th minute, England were rewarded for their dominance as Marcus Rashford scored again to seal a 3-0 win for his country.

Courtesy of the win, England finishes Group B as winners and are through to the Round 16 stage.

The Three Lions will come up against the Teranga Lions of Senegal in the Round 16 stage of the ongoing mundial.
