World Cup 2022: Ghanaian official takes selfie with tearful Son Heung-Min after defeat

A member of Ghana's backroom staff was spotted in an attempt to take a selfie with an emotional-stricken Son Heung-min during South Korea's 3-2 defeat to the Africans on Monday.

Aziz Salifu, who is the security chief of the team was looking for an opportunity to take a selfie with the Tottenham star after the clash.

But it took assistant coach of the Black Stars George Boateng to stop the latter from his act.

Boateng and Mas-Ud Dramani, also an assistant coach, were consoling the Tottenham Hotspur star, when Aziz Salifu strangely walked in to steal a selfie with the crying 30-year-old.

Ghana took a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu and Ajax's Mohammed Kudus.

However, Ghana fans' raucous celebrations at halftime were dampened by South Korea's comeback after the break.

Cho Gue-sung, the top scorer in his domestic league, levelled the game after 61 minutes with two stunning headers in three minutes.

But Ghana's impressive Kudus added a final twist by thumping in a third goal to break South Korea's hearts.

The Black Stars must avoid defeat against Uruguay to sail through to the Round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup.
