Africa has a second win at the 2022 FIFA World Cup following a resounding 2-0 win by Morocco against Belgium on Sunday afternoon.

Morocco are one of five African countries representing the continent at the ongoing global showpiece in Qatar.

Before today, Senegal boasted of the only win by an African country at the tournament after the Teranga Lions cruised past host national Qatar a few days ago.

Today, Morocco locked horns with Belgium in a second Group F match of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup.

While Belgium would see more of the ball possession, it was the North Africans that threatened on several occasions.

In stoppage time of the first time, Hakim Ziyech scored from a free kick but the goal was unfortunately ruled out for offside to the disappointment of the thousands of fans in the stands.

After recess, Morocco continued to perform well and scored twice through Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal to cruise to an important 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Courtesy of the victory, Morocco are now temporally top of the Group F standings with four points.
