World Cup 2022: Lawrence Ati-Zigi – Player Profile

Switzerland-based goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been named in Ghana’s final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The FC St. Gallen shot-stopper is one of three goalkeepers named in the Black Stars squad scheduled to start in Qatar on November 20.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi, 25, was born on November 29, 1996. He received his first Ghana call-up in August 2017 for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification games against Congo on 1 and 5 September 2017.

Eventually, he debuted for the Black Stars on June 7, 2018, when he featured for his country in a friendly match against Iceland that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Ati-Zigi on the matchday lasted the entire duration of the game.

He has since that time been a regular for the Black Stars and was part of the Ghana squad that played at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Currently playing for FC St. Gallen in the Swiss Super League, Lawrence Ati-Zigi has also in the past played for FC Liefering, Red Bull Salzburg, and Sochaux.
