World Cup 2022: Mubarak Wakaso and Jeffrey Schlupp's hope revived after Baba Iddrisu's injury

Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso and versatile Jeffrey Schlupp's hope of going to has been revived after Baba Iddrisu's injury.

Baba Iddrisu got injured in Real Mallorca's  matchday 14 encounter against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.

Baba Iddrisu could not finish the first half of the intense encounter. In added time, he limped off and had to be substituted during the break.

After further examination Baba Iddrisu will have to spend some time on the sidelines to recover which has ruled him out of getting a spot to Doha, Qatar.

Baba's injury opens up opportunities for Mubarak Wakaso and Crystal Palace player Jeffrey Schlupp. Ghanaians we're not happy when news circulated that Jeffrey Schlupp has been dropped from Ghana's final World Cup squad.

Someone thought to be his agent slammed the Ghana Football Association after the news circulated that Schlupp has been dropped. The players agency has clarified that the said person slamming the FA was not his agent.

Ghana will play it's last international friendly game against Switzerland on November 17th in the United Arab Emirates before flying to Qatar.

The Black Stars of Ghana is in Group H alongside Uruguay, Portugal, and South Korea. Ghana will play Portugal on 24th November, South Korea on 28th November and play their final group game against Uruguay 2nd December.

According to reports, Ghana will train at the famous Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar.

The 29-year-old Jeffrey Schlupp has made 14 appearances in the English top flight this season for Crystal Palace while Mubarak Wakaso has made seven appearances for KAS Eupen in Belgium.

Jeffrey Schlupp made his debut for the senior national team the Black Stars on 15 November, 2011. The former Leicester City player has played 20 times for the Black Stars and scored one goal.

Mubarak Wakaso 32, made his debut for the senior national team the Black Stars on 13 November, 2012. The former Rubin Kazan midfielder has played 70 times for the Black Stars and scored 13 goals.
