Ghana head coach Otto Addo has expressed his satisfaction following the impressive performance of his players so far at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Black Stars began the tournament with a 3-2 to defeat to Portugal who have progressed to the last 16 stage and defeated South Korea 3-2 on Monday to boost their chances qualification.

Ghana are currently 2nd in Group H and will need a win or draw against Uruguay to advance to the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.

"Both are very very close matches. Both could have gone either way. It was good we could match with big teams like Portugal but we also have to aware of all teams participating in this World Cup," the 47-year-old told ghanafa.org.

"Even a 2-0 lead is not enough. Each team has the strength to come back and we really felt it but and that was again good to see hw mental strong we are to fight back and got a 3rd goal because it was needed and the way we defended was extraordinary although we  in all we allowed way too many crosses but you can see that the World Cup is a tight tournament.

"I don't see that small small teams anymore and Ghana is also picking up until we can see we can compete with everybody.

Ghana are the third African country after Senegal and Morocco to secure a win in the second round of matches in the tournament.
