Portugal qualified for the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup on Monday by defeating Uruguay 2-0 in the second round of the race's group round.
Cristiano Ronaldo came so close to scoring in the game that FIFA originally gave him the game's first goal, and in the end, he sent a message on social media to appreciate the objective achieved and the "dream" that is still alive.
"We are in the eighth of the World Cup! Great job, team! In the face of an opponent of great merit, we made our strength and quality count. Let's go ahead! We are in the fight and our dream is still very much alive! Força, Portugal," he posted on Instagram.
Portugal will play South Korea in their final group game on 2nd December.
