Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has expressed his delight representing the Black Stars at the World Cup, saying it is one of the greatest gift football has given him.

The Black Stars were eliminated after the first round of the tournament following a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay. A game Seidu featured.

The Clermont Foot right-back made two appearances at the World Cup, starting against Portugal and Uruguay.

After defeating South Korea in their second group game, the Black Stars needed a draw or win against Uruguay to advance to the last 16 stage.

But the team failed to negotiate for points against their ‘enemies’ Uruguay.

In a post sighted by Footballghana.com, the enterprising defender expressed his joy representing Ghana at the biggest soccer mundial.

"I want to give glory to Allah for allowing me to represent the colors of one of the greatest Gift football has given me. Sad the goal was not achieved but alhamdulillah. Thanks to everyone who supported me and the team," wrote the Clermont Foot player.
