World Cup 2022: South Korea resumes training ahead of Portugal clash

Published on: 30 November 2022

The South Korean national soccer team started training ahead of their encounter against Portugal in the group's finale.

Despite dominating the match, the national team fell short against Ghana by one goal, which left them feeling bitterly disappointed.

Contrary to speculations, the team prepared for the encounter against Portugal in a positive spirit after meeting with coach Bento and starting training peacefully.

The team's morale was increased by the substitutes and players who did not participate in the game by supporting one another in a loud voice while riding their bikes to recuperate.

Confidence was raised for the encounter against Portugal as a result of Hwang Hee-chan, who missed the first and second rounds of the group league due to a thigh injury, sprinting with his teammates on one side of the training pitch and displaying explosive moves in the subsequent mini-game.

Bento coach closely monitored Hwang Hee-chan train as well.

Coach Bento apologized to the players at the end of the game against Ghana after being sent off for strongly criticizing the referee for not awarding a corner kick. He also said that he accepted full responsibility for not being permitted to sit on the bench during the game against Portugal.
