Spanish footballing legend Xabi Alonso has hinted that he could retire from the the game when he leaves Bayern Munich.
Speaking toMarca, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder confirmed that he could see the German champions as potentially his last club, as he doesn't anticipate having too many years left at the top of his game. He initially arrived at Bayern from Real Madrid in 2014, but his deal expires at the end of the current campaign.
He said on his future:"I think Bayern will be my last club. While my mind and body can bear it, I want to keep playing at the elite level. And that will be with Bayern - I do not think there is another step for me in senior football.
"I would go to Italy, but there is not time to give myself there."
When asked if he would extend his contract with Bayern, he added:"I have not decided. As the months pass, I will go slowly taking one direction or another.

"I'll see what I feel or whether the club sit down with me to discuss continuing or taking another path. I do not know what will happen. Time will tell. I do not burden myself with that. I have the freedom to decide and I do not set deadlines.
"(Winning the Champions League) would be a grand finale, but winning that doesn't change my future."
