Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco is now among the numerous European stars that have had the details of their contracts spilled as part of 'Phase 2' of the 'Football Leaks' wave.
With information published by Le Soir in Belgium, it has been revealed that the lucrative deal Carrasco signed in October more than doubled his annual salary from €2m to €4.5m.
The 23-year-old Belgian international, considered one of Europe's hottest prospects, also saw his terms extended from 2021 to 2022 as the La Liga club look to protect their biggest assets.
Carrasco only joined Atletico from Monaco in the summer of 2015 and ended the season with an equalising goal in the Champions League final against city rivals Real Madrid.
Prior to signing a new deal, an offer of €55m would have been enough to trigger the release clause of the player once linked with Tottenham in the Premier League. The October renewal saw that rise into nine figure territory at €100,000,000.
Carrasco was part of the heavily fancied Belgium squad that somewhat underwhelmed by only reaching the quarter finals at Euro 2016, but has begun the new club season in fine form.
From wide areas, he has scored the same number of goals (six) in La Liga as Antoine Griezmann and €32m summer signing Kevin Gameiro. Carrasco has also scored twice in five Champions League appearances and has bagged two domestic assists as well.
