Former Black Stars management committee member Yaw Boateng Gyan says it would have been prudent for the national team to have camped on the African continent rather than Qatar.
The senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars will camp in Qatar ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year.
Coach Milovan Rajevac is expected to name his team in the coming weeks before embarking on their training tour of the United Arab Emirates.
The team will spend two weeks in Qatar with a series of friendlies line up before traveling to Cameroon in January for the Nations Cup.
The Black Stars will engage Algeria and two other countries in friendlies.
In an interview with West FM, the Chairman of Bofoakwa Tano raised concerns about the teams pre-AFCON camping in Qatar.
According to him, it would have been prudent for the team to camp on the African continent instead of the Asian country.
"The GFA should explain to Ghanaians why they chose Qatar as camping place and not any Africa countries such as Nigeria which is closer to Cameroon with similar atmosphere"
" During World cup 2014, we chose USA because they have a similar atmosphere like Brazil" he said.
