Asante Kotoko's head Coach Kjetil Zachariassen will not return to Ghana with Asante Kotoko after their exist in the Confiderations Cup at Abidjan.

His agent Charles Kouadia debunked rumors of the missing coach, indicating he is in his Ivory Coast home .

"Management of Asante Kotoko asked me to tell the coach that they cannot guarantee his safety so he has left to his house in Abidjan.

"It's not true he is missing but rather Dr. Kyei and Nana Coker told me i should tell him they can't guarantee his safety looking at what has happened and what the supporters did".

The Porcupine Warriors were in action on Sunday in Cote d’Ivoire in the second leg of the final qualifying round to the group stage of the CAF confederations cup.

Though they went into the game with a 1-0 win from the first meeting at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a 2-0 loss at the end of 90 minutes meant that the Reds have been eliminated after falling short in a 2-1 aggregate defeat.

Supporters in Abidjan and Ghana were fumed with the tactics of coach Kjetil Zachariassen requesting for his immediate dismissal.

The Norwegian trainer could not qualify the Porcupine Warriors to either of the Group stages of CAF's inter-clubs competitions.

Zachariassen took charge of the club in July this year to replace CK Akonnor who was fired after leading them to the Group stage of the continent's second-tier competition.

Earlier, he failed to steer the club to the CAF Champions League money zone after suffering elimination at the hands of the Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.

Per his contract, he was tasked to lead the Porcupine Warriors to the group stage of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League in the first season.
