Zambia President gives the clear for return of football

The President of Zambia, H.E Edgar Chagwa Lungu has given football authorities the clear to make arrangements for football to return in the country.

The 2019/2020 football season in the West African country has been inactive for the past 3 months as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis that hit the country in March.

Following several engagements in the past months, the Zambia government has finally given the green light to the Zambia Football Association for football activities to resume.

President of the country's football governing body, Andrew Kamanga is now expected to work closely with the football fraternity and health experts to provide a safe environment before the various leagues restart.

They will need to ensure football is played with strict Coronavirus protocols in place in order not to cause the spread of the deadly disease.

Earlier this week, the South African FA also secured permission from its government for the return of football. It is an indication that gradually football is making a return on the African continent just like the other parts of the world.
