The Black Stars of Ghana have defeated the Brave Warriors of Zimbabwe 1-0 today to enhance chances of qualifying to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The national team of the West African country started the campaign in the world cup qualifiers last month with a win over Zimbabwe and a defeat to South Africa.

Having resumed the qualifiers in the October international break with a delightful 3-1 win against Zimbabwe last Friday, Ghana piled the pressure on South Africa.

Completing the scheduled fixtures today, Ghana played as a guest to Zimbabwe in Harare on matchday four.

In what ensued as a very tough contest for the Black Stars, a Thomas Partey goal from a direct free kick has powered coach Milovan Rajevac’s outfit to record a vital 1-0 win.

The victory sees Ghana climb to the top of the Group G standings of the African qualifiers.

The standings of the division, could however change by the close of the day if South Africa beat Ethiopia.
