Zinedine Zidane Admits James Rodriguez's Lack of Playing Time 'Could Become a Problem' at Madrid

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has warned that out-of-favourJames Rodriguez's lack of playing time'could become a problem' this season.


The 25-year-old, who made a stunning€80m switch after dazzling at World Cup 2014, impressed during his first season in the Spanish capital, scoring 17 goals in 46 appearances.

Since then, the Colombia international has failed to break into Zinedine Zidane's first-team, making the bench for Real Madrid's La Liga opener against Real Sociedad last weekend.


According toreports in Spain, the talentedmidfielderwill seek a move away from the Bernabeu if he isn't selected in the starting line-up against Celta Vigo this weekend.


Speaking at a news conference on Friday, as quoted bySky Sports, Zidane said:"James is a Real Madrid player and he has a contract with us but it's true that he has played less than others and that could prove a problem.

"I always try to make my players feel important and James is no different than the rest.Anything could happen between now and August 31 [when the transfer window closes].


"I'm sure no one else is going to arrive but players could leave. I have a squad now and I'm happy with it and some players are going to return [from injury]."

James Rodriquez will move to a club in Italy, Juventus are the most likely team.

The Champions League holders started their La Liga campaign in fine-form last weekend, brushing aside Real Sociedad in a dominant 3-0 away win.And Zidane is confident Los Blancos can continue their 100 per cent record in La Liga on Saturday, as they face Celta Vigo at theBernabeu.


"The performance at Real Sociedad is the way to go and now we're facing another difficult team who know how to play good football," Zidane added.


"But this is our first home game and with our fans behind us we'll try and get the three points."
