Zlatan Ibrahimovic Thanks Fabio Capello for Making Him a Better Player

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given credit to former England manager Fabio Capello for helping him change his game and become a better player.

The Swede played under Capello at Juventus for two years and that is where he became more of a striker, scoring goals, rather than providing assists and creating chances.

Ibrahimovic, who recently scored his 24th goal for Manchester United, has been in scintillating form for the Red Devils and recently met the Italian manager.

Known for his candor and extreme confidence in himself, the former Paris Saint-Germain striker posted a picture of his meeting with Fabio Capello and captioned it as "The person who changed my game, Fabio Capello."

A cursory glance at the big Swede's goalscoring record and one can actually see the difference his time at Juventus made to his career statistics.

Prior to joining Juventus, he had scored more than 20 goals in only one season of his career, while post his career with The Old Lady, he has crossed the 20-goal mark in all seasons but one.

Capello, who had wanted to sign Zlatan during his time at Roma, finally got his man in 2004 when he was the manager of Juventus.

Hehad spoken about Zlatan Ibrahimovic last year toFootball Italia, talking about his qualities, saying, "I saw Ibra for the first time when I was the coach of Roma and realised he had great technique."

He continued, "When I went to Juventus, I asked the club to sign him, as I'd never seen a player with his physical strength and technical qualities too."

The former Juventus, AC Milan and Real Madrid manager then spoke about how he worked on Ibrahimovic's game, saying, "After a month at Juve, I noticed he was not kicking the ball very well and wasn't good in the air. He is a very proud guy and worked every day to improve himself. He stayed behind after training sessions for extra target practice."

At the time, the goal was not in his DNA, as he had more fun providing assists. He followed my advice to be more determined in front of goal and turned into a real hitman. He is humble, but also really likes being Number One. said the Italian, before signing off.
