Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reject a move to China and extend his current contract at Old Trafford, according to theDaily Mail.

Ibrahimovic took his Premier League goal tally to 11 on Saturday with a brace against West Brom in United's 2-0 win, a victory which took the Red Devils level on points with fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Inter Milan and PSG striker has plied his trade throughout Europe's top leagues, but is now the target of the Chinese Super League who are trying to compete with their European rivals through hefty financialspending. The likes of Hulk, Alex Teixeira and Ramires all currently play in China, while Chelsea midfielder Oscar also looks set to make the move to Asia.

The Chinese government is willing to bankroll a £120m move for Ibrahimovic in the hope the Swede can boost commercial revenue and increase the profile of Chinese football. The 35-year-old was offered a whopping £56m-a-year before making the move to United, and his form this season has made officials from China eager to make another effort to sign him.

United manager Jose Mourinho has previously confirmed Ibrahimovic will be offered a new deal in the future, with the striker happy to extend his stay at the club beyond the current season. Ibrahimovic is hoping United can challenge for the Premier League in the coming seasons.

He is hoping to help Mourinho deliver on a possible league title before leaving the club, knowing his services will still be in high demand despite already reaching the twilight of his career.
