Arsenal winger Oxlade-Chamberlain denies Wenger future affected players

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has dismissed suggestions that the uncertainty over manager Arsene Wenger has disturbed the team's dressing room.

The last few months have witnessed huge speculation regarding Wenger's future at the club, and the Frenchman recently admitted that lack of clarity over his future might have affected his side's performances this season.

"If that's an accurate assessment of what the manager said, well then, you'd better take his word for it," Oxlade-Chamberlain said.

"But I think as players it's our job to deal with adversity and the manager's future, players' futures, and shrug them off.

"That always comes into play in football. But I'm not going to stand here as a player and say that's been an excuse for our lack of form.

"As a team, we're all professionals and every time we go out onto the pitch we are there to win and we can't blame any of that for our lack of form throughout the whole season."
