Bechem United’s Burkinabe striker Ahmed Toure remains optimistic the club will avoid relegation after their victory over Kotoko on Sunday.

The FA Cup champions defeated the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 to take them four points above the drop with two games remaining.

Bechem United are still not out of danger yet and will have to win the rest of their games to secure their premier league status.

However, following the victory over Toure’s former side, the 29 year old said after the game he is absolutely certain they will avoid the drop.

“I’m certain we will not be relegated, the win against Kotoko was very crucial in our survival. So with two matches left we would try and get positive results so that we can survive.

Meanwhile, the goal poacher revealed he is not bent on winning the goal king accolade and wants to rather help the club stay in the Ghana Premier League.

“My target is not the goal king but to help Bechem go forward. I’m happy with my 12 goals tally, so going forward it doesn’t matter who scores but getting the required results to help Bechem survive,” Toure said in an interview.

Bechem United will next travel to the Greater Accra to play Tema Youth in match day 29, with both sides battling to stay in the Premiership.
