Executive Director of newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC has revealed the reasons for lack of sponsorship for the topflight league.

According to the astute football administrator, the quality of personnel running the Ghana Premier league is a major factor for lack of sponsorship.

The MTN FA Cup committee chairman explained, in as much as there has been improvement in personnel, there is a lot of work to be done.

“I think there is a multiplicity of reasons. I have always spoken about the quality of personnels who are involved in our game. I have always said that there is a need for us to continuously improve and whiles in other jurisdictions, people go to school to learn the business of the sport,” he said on the Legends night show on GH One TV.

”In Ghana, we believe that once we are born and can be engage in the business of football and that is not really the game. Also, it is pleasant to say that the quality of personnel involved in our game has improved a lot. Gone were the days where it was very difficult to be scientific in the management of football but today we are much more scientific in management of football that it used to be,” he stated.

”Also, we lack quality human resource personnel in certain key department of our sport. I wonder how many top our clubs have qualified marketing managers, accounting staff and media persons. If you go through all the 16 clubs, you would admit there is a big gap.”

The Ghana Premier League has struggled for a headline sponsorship in recent years following the termination of the contract between the then CAL Bank and the Ghana Football Association.
