Andre Ayew's move to West Ham United was never a wrong move, according to the spokesperson for the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie.

The 28-year-old completed a move to London based club from Swansea City for a club-record fee and penned down a three-year deal.

Ayew spent just one season at Swansea following a move from Marseille.

However, the Black Stars deputy captain failed to impress with the Hammers after suffering an injury in his first match against Chelsea but Fiifi has insisted that Andre's move to London was never wrong.

"Andre had to leave Swansea because his wages was very high," he told Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

"Fenerbahce has been monitoring Andre Ayew since his days at Marseille and I know he is ready for this challenge.

Quizzed if his move to West Ham was wrong, he said, "Andre Ayew's move to West Ham was never a wrong move but if you don't wrong, you will never get it right.

"I am not permitted to say this but the injury he suffered in his first match against Chelsea was a career-threatening injury and I was surprised to him play the AFCON.

"We thought he will not be able to come back but he came back strongly and when he rejoined Swansea, people thought he was not going t get it right.

"Again, people judge players with goals but it is not always about that but Andre's contribution at Swansea after going back was massive despite they suffering relegation," he added.
