The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 completed the registration of MTN Mobile Money Application (MTN MOMO APP) platform to be used as the payment platform for the association.
The MTN MOMO APP can now be used by the GFA to make payments to participating clubs in the MTN FA Cup and also to other partners.
The GFA may also use the payment platform to receive payments from clubs including but not limited to fines, costs, affiliation fees made by clubs by paying to the GFA Mobile Money number 0557 927057 and using their club name as the Reference for the transaction (e.g. Heart of Lions – DC Fine).
The MTN MOMO APP is an online payment application which provides the user more flexibility, security and tracking of payments, was recently launched by MTN, the Title Sponsor of the MTN FA Cup (Scancom PLC), a partner of the GFA since 2010.
All participating clubs in the MTN FA Cup are requested to register with MTN Mobile Money and send the club’s MTN Mobile Money number to the Secretary of the FA Cup Committee facilitate payment of appearance fees as well as other payment to and from the GFA.
The GFA sees this addition to its payment system as its contribution to Ghana’s quest for a cashless society.
