Kotoko legend Wilberforce Mfum condemns the sacking of Zdravko Logarusic

Published on: 18 April 2017

Legendary Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward, Wilberforce Mfum says it was a bad decision for the current management of the team to fire Croatian trainer Zdravko Logarusic.

Logarusic was engaged by Kotoko on January 10, 2017 but started work on January 12. “That was a bad decision. You don’t sack a coach at the middle of a season. They could have even waited for the first round to end,” He told GTV Sports Plus.

He added: “Both Kotoko and Hearts suffer from such bad management practices. They sack coaches at odd time which is bad.”

According to Sportsobama.com, Mfum who was a management member of the Porcupine Warriors under P.V. Obeng and Dr. K.K. Sarpong argued that the coach was never the problem of the club fingering the players as inferior.

“They must look at the players rather. The players are not up to the standard of Kotoko. The coach did nothing to be sacked. The players are not Kotoko standard,” he added.

He led the Porcupines in 11 league matches in which he won five, drew four and lost two. His tactics came under strong scrutiny and criticisms from fans – many of who questioned his 3-5-2 formation.
