Abeiku Ainooson's penalty miss proved costly as Kumasi Asante Kotoko were pipped 1-0 away at Wa All Stars in their first game of the post-Zdravko Lugarusic's era at the Malik Jabir Park.
Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time and goalkeeper Richard Ofori made some key saves to deny Kotoko and hand them their fifth consecutive league game without a win.
Indeed, Kotoko should have escaped with a point but the usually reliable Abeiku Ainoonson missed a penalty in the 58th minute, when his tame shot was blocked by Richard Ofori.
It was a familiar pattern and result for Kotoko who despite their possession dominance were unable to claim a point under stand-in coach Godwin Ablordey.
