Mauricio Pochettino Happy With 'Good Point' as Spurs Draw Against Bayer Leverkusen

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was pleased with a point after his side drew 0-0 at Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.


Spurs played well in the first half, with Vincent Janssen and Erik Lamela both going close, but faltered in the second period as Leverkusen dominated possession and created the better chances.

Speaking after the game to BBC Sport,Pochettino claimed he was happy with the result after a tough night for his players.


"I am not disappointed. After the game, I think it is a good point for us," Pochettino claimed.


"It was a very tough game. In the first half we deserved more and in the second they got better. I am pleased with the point.


"In the second half I think they played better than us and started to dominate the game. We need to be positive - it is in our hands to go through to the next round."

Spurs had Hugo Lloris to thankfor grabbing a point in Germany after the Frenchman made a raft of saves, including an impressive stop from Javier Hernandez, clawing the ball off the linewhen the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker looked certainto score.


Talking to Spurs' Twitter account after the game, Pochettino claimedLloris was one of the best goalies around following his performance.

"Hugo's save was brilliant. He's one of the best, that is my opinion. It's great to have him in goal."


There was also good news on the injury front for Tottenham, with Pochettino confirming central defender Toby Alderweireld has had a scan and that the results were clear.
