Newcastle are competing with Crystal Palace for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle expressed interest in Adrian last month and would consider putting Karl Darlow into a potential deal.
Palace had hoped the 30-year-old would be keen to stay in London but the prospect of linking up with Rafa Benitez appeals.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has urged Adrian to sign a new deal.
However, the Spaniard is ready to move on after the arrival of on-loan Manchester City keeper Joe Hart.
