Newly promoted Pescara FC’s midfield dynamo, Ransford Selasi, has declared that playing in the Italia Serie A is a dream come true, but playing for the national team is a challenge he’s ready to conquer anytime he’s called upon.

After starring in 24 games and registering two assists from central midfield for the Abruzzo-based club, hard tackling Selasi has revealed that ever since he joined the Pescara Primavera in 2013, it has always been his dream to feature in the serie A as he considers it as one of the best leagues in the world.

“After being part of that wonderful club for the past three years, it feels great to have finally achieved the dreams and aspirations I set to fulfil from the first day I joined the Primavera. I wasn’t easy in the initial stages, but with hard work and determination I’ve been able to help the club win back promotion to one of the best league in the world. I feel very proud of everything we did to achieve this target we set before the start of the Serie B, but I’ll say the catalyst for this big achievement is Coach Massimo Oddo because did help us a lot in the middle of the season when things were rough for us.” Selasi told Happy FM’s Reuben Obodai in an exclusive interview.

However, the 19- year old disclosed that he’s ready for a national team call-up anytime he gets an invitation even though there are more experienced players ahead of him in regards to his position and will use the fairytale experience with Pescara to accomplish this aim.

“I’m always open to a national team call-up which has been one my ultimate goals in life as a footballer and will surely be one of my greatest achievements aside the promotion with Pescara to the Italia Serie A. But before I can realize this aspiration, I must first feature prominently in the upcoming league season to fulfil this wish.” He added.

Pescara beat Trapani in the Serie B promotion play-offs 3-1 on aggregate after three-year absence from the Serie A, having fallen at the same hurdle 12 months ago.
