StarTimes decision to telecast matches away from home will cripple clubs – Oduro Sarfo

Board Member of Berekum Chelsea, Oduro Sarfo has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and StarTimes to review their decision to have clubs playing outside their ‘home venues’ in matches they would telecast live.

The Premier League broadcasters disclosed it to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Premier League Board that, although they would broadcast many games, they would only telecast matches from selected venues with reasons including the fact that, their OB Van can’t travel beyond 240 kilometres.

But the seasoned football administrator believes is a decision that wouldn’t serve the interest of clubs wholly.

“This decision by StarTimeS to move games to selected venues in the league will cripple us,” he told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.

“That being said, I still think it’s important they review that decision since there are rules in the GFA Constitution that specifies clubs playing their games away from home.

“Playing at home gives clubs added advantage and we cannot fathom why this decision is being allowed,” he argued.
