Swansea forward Jordan Ayew confident ahead of clash against Liverpool

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew is buoyed by Swansea's recent performance in the English Premier League and their progress in the FA Cup.

The striker who scored a fantastic solitary goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers to help Swansea progress to the next stage of the FA Cup is confident ahead of the club's premier league clash against Liverpool on Monday.

The Ghanaian forward has been on a decent run of goal scoring form, scoring three in his last five games.

Ahead of the Liverpool clash, the 26 year old told the Club's website, the win in midweek should build their confidence for the visit of the Reds.

“We are into a crucial stage of the season and every match is really important,” said the Ghanaian.

“Confidence is very important and winning on Wednesday night boosted the team’s confidence. That can help us mentally for Monday’s match.

“We know it’s not going to be easy on Monday but with the support we have and quality in the squad we know we have to start improving and winning games. We need points, and that’s the target.”

The Reds have won 13 of their last 18 games in all competitions – averaging three goals per match – with Jurgen Klopp’s side last tasting defeat when they went down 4-1 at Tottenham last October.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew's Swansea City are rocked bottom of the table but have lost only once since the appointment of Carlos Carvahal as Coach at the Liberty Stadium.
