Black Princesses striker Sandra Owusu-Ansah claims the team has no excuse to fail Ghanaians at the 2018 FIFA Women's World Cup to be staged in France.

Ghana will be making a fifth successive appearance at the global showpiece and the Ghana U-20 female team are yet to make it past the first round having crashed out of the competition at the group stage in their last term.

Owusu-Ansah, 18 who is expected to lead the attack at the tourney insists they will do their best to make an impression at the World Cup.

“Yes as you rightly said we haven’t made it past the group stage before, it is a big worry,” she told the media at the team’s base in Prampram.

“We have not excuse this time around, we can see the support from the people of Ghana and we know they will be keeping an eye on us.

“We just can’t fail them this time around and we will do everything possible to make an impression this time around," she added.

The Black Princesses are set to leave Ghana to France on Monday where they will continue their preparation before their opening group match against the host nation France.
