Deputy General Secretary in charge of communication at the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saanie Daara has emphatically indicated that he will defend the interest of the association even at a gun point amid reports that he has a personal agenda against Nii Lante Vanderpuye. There have been series of unfriendly exchange of comments between the GFA spokesman and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye in recent time after it was alleged that the Minister played a purported role in the Dzamefe Commission to implicate the FA in the aftermath of the Brazil debacle.

However, Speaking to Moses Antwi Benefo (PJ Mozee) on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo sports, Saanie Daara did not hold back as he declared that he has no personal mean against the Minister but all he does and utters are borne out of the interest of the Federation.

“I’ve been hearing that I hold something bad against the Minister, but I will make it clear to the football populace that I hold no grudge against anyone and that includes the Minister. I have never insulted or used any vulgar language against him in all the interviews I’ve granted and I do not intend to so, but we rather are gravely hurting by the comments he and his deputy makes.”

“I do not speak on my freewill. I get my empowerment from my superiors before I say anything because I act on the orders of the Federation. The Minister should understand that I speak on the opinion what we in the association believe in, and I fend for the Federation even when a gun is held against my head.”

“I understand that we are a package and I’m in front of it because any time they say something, nobody mentions the names of President Nyantakyi, George Afriyie or any other member of the Federation but Saani and I know how it works.”

Sannie, who has 21 years of work experience in both local and international media relations, was appointed the GFA’s communications director in August 2012.
