13th African Games: Step onto the stage with confidence and showcase the power of sports – Akufo-Addo charges athletes

President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa has implored athletes representing their countries at the 13th African Games to do their best.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the games in Accra on Friday, March 8, the president urged the athletes to showcase the power of sports with confidence.

“To the athletes, I commend your unwavering commitment despite the challenges faced. I urge you to step onto this stage with confidence and showcase the power of sports. I believe that your strength will bring hope to the people and unite Africa,” President Akufo-Addo said.

In his address, the President welcomed the rest of Africa to Ghana and assured them that they would be safe throughout their stay in the country.

“The African Games are finally in Ghana after a century, and it is our time to make it a source of pride for generations to come.

“On behalf of the people of Ghana, I welcome you all to the friendly city of Accra, and I assure you of a safe and pleasant stay,” President Akufo-Addo said.
