World football governing body, FIFA celebrated Asamoah Gyan for his cracking goal against the United States of America during the 2010 World Cup.
In a Round of 16 clash staged at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Kevin-Prince Boateng broke the deadlock for Ghana in just five minutes into the game to end the first half 1-0.
However, after recess, USA scored from a spot kick through Landon Donovan to end the game 1-1.
During extra time, Asamoah Gyan scored a cracking goal in the 94th minute to seal the win for the Black Stars which propelled them to play in the quarterfinal for the first time in the history of Ghana.
In a social media post, FIFA said, "Baby Jet turned on the burners for this one in 2010!."

In their quarterfinal final clash against Uruguay, Ghana lost 4-2 on penalty shootouts.
Asamoah Gyan, who featured in three World Cups with the Black Stars remains the country's all-time leading goal scorer and Africa's top goal scorer in the history of the global showpiece.
The former Sunderland, Stade Rennes, Udinese, Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG, Kayserispor and NorthEast United striker announced his retirement from football in June 2023.
